This song is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.

This is so far the most "replayable" of the bunch, every time the song ends, it makes me want to start it over again

I love it so much earlier I wrote this whole little disjointed series of thoughts somewhere else about how sincere and vulnerable kinda Anthony's voice is during the chorus and how much I love it. like I'm still unable to completely express how much I love it or what it is exactly about it that makes me love it so much, but it's just so special. also I saw someone on youtube comment that they think it's their best song since Wet Sand. I'd have to really stop and think about it before I say I totally agree with them, but I'm definitely leaning towards that.

Encore is set to become a classic along the lines of Wet Sand in the fan communities for sure. It's exciting to think it could become a live staple too, so often songs fans want to hear are very rare live, but his one, why not, it wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for live jams.

Another masterpiece on the album, I think it's my most played one. It's just too short and I want to keep hearing that gentle guitar again and again. It's so simple and honest in the chorus and I can't praise Anthony and Josh enough for the vocals. so often songs fans want to hear are very rare live, but his one, why not, it wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for live jams. that is exactly what I thought and then it gives me hope for Samurai, too.

You make a very good point virvo! If I'm really honest, id rather this is played and rotated with UTB, rather than UTB being played every single show. So, played in the spot where Under the Bridge normally is (about 11/12th on the setlist) and they rotate it with UTB. So Encore one or two nights in a row then UTB for a couple, rinse and repeat. Could even chuck Wet Sand in that spot like they did at Pinkpop

Encore to start the encore is what I hope for hehe. Imagine them coming back on and rolling out that intro out of nowhere as if nothing ever changed, just jamming.
I agree it's nice to see they don't play UTB every single gig. It should also be good for everyone, cause it's an intense song, and it seems to make more sense to let it cool off after you've played it and regain energy for it, rather than production line work. Soul to Squeeze is a very worthy change for UTB too (or Wet Sand like you mentioned is fantastic too of course).
If Anthony is already getting this ballsy with taking out classics (in a recent interview he again talked about having the responsibility to include certain songs for fans that saved up all their money etc + festival setting expectations), the setlists could become very adventurous when the non-festival gigs start.

Or that. It would be fitting haha, Encore at the start of an encore, makes sense. I guess seeing it was an encore jam previously too. Yep, the stand alone shows will be interesting, I will be so thankful of Josh if some songs that have been put away for a long time come back this tour. He's up for anything.

I think that they played "Encore" after "Give it Away" sometimes as a jam.

It has grown on me very quickly. I actually hated that jam and thought it was overrated.

I heard Encore in a store. Together with Dark, this is the only song from the album I heard on the radio. The one in the store wasn't a rock radio station in any kind of way either. I hope this means the radio djs are listening to the album and picking up on what a lot of fans love so much about this song. Even if it's not a single, it sounds perfect for a universal hit that both fans and the people love, like By the Way or Can't Stop.
