Has anyone else noticed this? I imagine most have. It seems they are doing around 15-20mins less on this tour with only two songs being played during the encore compared to four on the I'm With You Tour.
I saw them at Tennants Vital Festival and at Birmingham #2 a couple of weeks ago and the gigs were noticeably shorter than each time I've seen them before (every tour since 1999).
Don't get me wrong - tbhey were amazing but it was just too short, especially for the £90 I paid for my ticket.
Does anyone know why this is?

Yep, I dont understand it either! I thought during the first four months, the sets were 16 songs due to the gigs being at a festival. But it was surprising they didn't extend it an extra two songs or so when the stand alone shows started in September. Also, I find it a bit odd as I think they are scheduled for 1 hr 45 min to 2 hrs for these gigs but are only playing 90 mins, right? Give or take 5 mins or so I guess. I don't blame anyone feeling hard done by with the ticket prices and show length, I think we all expect longer shows with the prices we are paying or are going to pay this tour. But I guess we all as passionate fans are willing to pay the money regardless. I had a little think about it being a personal issue/band member issue, but all four guys have been on form this tour. Unless its precautionary advice for Flea's previous injury or something of the sort, I don't believe that theres any issue there. Anyone else got any other ideas or theories toward shorter sets? Glad you enjoyed those shows though

i think it really sucks, they play fewer songs now.

Yes, that's my only complaint. At least they should play 18 songs like before.

Unfortunately, 16 is the magic number for them this tour Fingers crossed they go another era/go again and they raise it back to what it could and should be.

Yeeeaaahhhhh not ideal but seems to be it is what it is. Prolly some combo of preserving Anthony's voice and I imagine some kind of recommendation from fleas doctors around how much to play on the arm....
In any event, for context the IWY tour was regularly 18 songs plus jams, an extended outro jam and random josh solo songs when he would do them. Now they are still playing lights out and doing a ton of variety, but with 2 less songs and no end jam.....not ideal but it is what it is. They never have been a band to regularly clear 2 hours of playing in a show, but right now it's right around 90 mins while past tours were more like 105-110 mins.

Guys ain't getting no younger. I know you get folks like Springstein who still go out and play 2-3hr sets, but unfortunately I think he's an exception to the rule.
