Last show of the hectic July schedule has arrived with Lollapalooza. I think it is the 25th anniversary of the festival so its a pretty big milestone considering its profile as a festival. The set is scheduled from 8.30pm to 10.00pm and we will potentially be getting a live stream for this one. Lolla is using Red Bull TV to stream certain gigs and with the boys as one of the main gigs, i'd say there will be a live stream for us to watch. The boys will have 3 weeks off after this gig with 2 more festivals (Reading and Leeds) left to play after their break before moving onto their stand alone shows which is exciting!

About to watch soon, had to go out earlier so i missed it unfortunately. Solid setlist and I'm happy to see Parallel hasn't been kicked off since they've brought it back. Anyone else realising the sets have been very Cali-powered/influenced? Most gigs have had a minimum of 4 songs played throughout the 20 shows we've had so far. Just something i've observed whilst doing the setlist and song thread and general viewing i guess haha. 3 week break now until the final 3 festival shows, then we will get some left field song choices coming through I feel. Interesting stuff

Scar tissue and otherside rotated for a while on the IWY tour which I wasn't a fan of. For a while on the IWY tour, Dani and around the world rotated which I also didn't like......that has since changed. Scar tissue and Dani are two I'd want to see every night, likewise for around the world if only because around the world and Dani are such high energy songs. Otherside I don't mind seeing rotated in and out. Cool how it was a toss up on Maggie or parallel, glad they chose parallel on that one as it fit the vibe more. Feel bed for josh on that broken string heading into the last chorus, he seemed to ask for a new guitar, didn't get it but whatever, it was his A string I think so no big deal, just means you rip the solo on the higher strings! |

What a good gig, I'm watching right now and had to pause after Dark Necessities to catch my breath because it was so raw and beautiful. Also for some reason Can't Stop really stroke me this time, it was so lovely. They kick it off the setlist once and now I suddenly appreciate the song more than ever before hehe. Gotta admit in all this anticipation to get more and more live versions of the new songs, I'm sometimes less excited about the old and often played ones. But here they play everything with such drive and burning appetite, it makes me crazy  It's gonna be hard to wait three weeks untill the next show, I hope they practice Samurai in the meantime hehe |

Yeah they rarely play both on the same night. They held off on Scar Tissue at the start of this tour but have played it consistently since they introduced it. Yeah they rotated Scar and Otherside last tour, I copped Otherside when I saw them. Hanging to hear Scar live, especially with Josh nailing it so far this tour. I agree Kenticus, I'm glad they chose Parallel over Maggie too. I really like Cali influenced sets though, you can't go wrong Although, I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing more songs from BSSM and SA pop up when the standalone shows start. Tracks from BTW don't get much airtime unfortunately, apart from the three played already you might get Throw Away Your Tele and maybe just maybe Don't Forget Me here and there, but thats it. Its a shame because there are tracks off it which could fit well into these current sets I feel, but it is what it is. Great freaking show btw, they killed it. Who else loved the jam into Goodbye Angels? |
