I really wonder that there is no thread about that song yet... I think it's the strongest song on the album, IMO it's a classic RHCP ballad and I admire AK's vocal works on this as well as the instruments (and Elton John). I think this song should be the next single, not "Go Robot" (which IMO is the weakest song on the album).

It was one of the weakest songs on the album for me, but it seems to be like that for a lot of people; either it's at the very top, or at the very bottom, not a lot of in between, it's pretty mysterious.
But then I got sick and a bit of an ironic result was that I really started liking Sick Love because my brain was fried a little and this song is kind of easier to go along with and it eases your fried level a little bit. Even if there is quite a bit of deeper meaning here, the island vibe just got to me and made me happy.
About the melodies and interplay, there a few really smart and intricate things going on, it keeps growing on me. Those poppier songs just take longer to grow on me, because they don't sweep me off my feet instantly like an epic Samurai or something. But that's not a bad thing at all.

Anyway, I can't find many similarities.

Sounds like a Jack Johnson track to me.

I think Sick Love is the best song on the album, although I wouldn't necessarily consider it a ballad like rattlesnake87 said. It's more of a mid-tempo groove.
Anyway, I think it has serious single potential.
